Beyonce for H&M/ Bow Down
By now, if you are popular culture inclined, you know Queen B, Mrs. Carter, Beyonce what ever she's going by these days has turned model for H&M's summer campaign. The creative director Donald Schneider calls The summer campaign ' an epic, fantasy, with glamor, drama, and a sense of paradise. Right now Beyonce has definitely induced the drama after releasing her latest leak Bow Down that has people losing their heads. My opinion on the track is its really not a taste I care to savour, however it's her creative work (and yes I'm still a fan). The girl had something on her mind, so she let it rain, (rain hard she did). The controversy all stems from the fact people put these artist on a pedestal, with all these expectations of who they should be and represent. 'Bow Down' is not what people expected from Beyonce but maybe it would be okay if she said Sasha Fierce took over. The fact remains this is another aspect of Beyonce, Love it or hate it, she need not apologize for being real.

THE COVETEUR
I stumbled upon this new website that I believe is quite interesting called The Coveteur. The founders take you inside the closets of who they consider style taste masters (celebrity stylist, designers, actors, etc)through feature stories on products they can't live without. On the business side of things, they also sell the products these style-setters covet on their site. So if your curious George about what people in the spotlight are using on their skin, hair, and various things in their closet The Coveteur will have hooked. http://www.thecoveteur.com

Rihanna for River Island- Critique
I know this is her first fashion line but I don't understand how someone who is at the forefront of breaking new trends, could put out a line so D-minor. Generally, I find Rihanna a risk taker and unpredictable when it comes to fashion, cutting edge, peak the curiosity interesting. So someone please tell me she was advised to tone it down for River Island, because this line is an absolute shock to me. I would call it Dead River Island, because most of her clothes carry a dark, lazy, unattended to, don't know what to wear today, it's raining, but I'll try, vibe. I wasn't going to blog about this, but I'm just irritatingly perplexed, her stylist couldn't drop her a few pointers, like REALLY!

& Other Stories: H&M'S NEW BRAND
Creative director Sara Hilden-Bengtsson had this to say "We went to different cities and looked at how the impact of social media, street style and bloggers has made women more fashion savvy,". "Women create looks differently than they did 10-15 years ago. They create their own stories through their personal style and they know fashion."

PRADA POPPY WHITE PRINT: THUMBS DOWN
So the streets are showing love for Prada's high contrast white poppy design. I just don't see the awe, or fascination in this trend. This look takes me back to elementary my dear elementary. As a twenty something, this is not the ideal portrayal I'd be going for. Yes, the design is meant to be a pure, playful, innocent, detail, yeah I get that but still, big white poppy print by PRADA? I don't like it. It's too am-mature, a detail for your favorite pajamas, or robe you know, on a tote bag its a pass...If I had a little girl I would put her in a dress with this design, its that kind of cute! As for grown women trying to dress this print up, NO! Get it together.

Who's Amancio Ortega?..Chanel Now 100 years old
So who's Amancio Ortega? Well he's only the King, the Don of the fashion world! As the co-founder of the Inditex fashion group, which includes Zara and Massimo Dutti, he is #1 on Forbes 2013 Billionaires List, making him fashion’s richest man. So Karl Lagerfeld whom I thought was the Kingpin of fashion is actually a Globalization Genius. Today more like Yesterday Chanel celebrate's 100 years of longevity and relevance, now that's just as important as being named Forbes top Billionaire! Chanel has 300 boutiques globally, that's called an Empire worth a lot of zeros. If Coco Chanel were alive today I wonder if Karl would be her muse, and Amancio her rival...

Jean Paul Gaultier Choppy Bang Appeal
Isn't it always about he hair?Jean Paul Gaultier Paris Fashion week fall/2013
Choppy, Cropped Bangs, Tom boy swag, the dishevelled look do or don't? Well I give the amber light on this one. The model's at the Jean Paul Gaultier show were hesitant but willing (with hair pieces that is!) It's unique, bold, and it makes a statement "I AM A SASHA (lol) FIERCE, DARING, RISK TAKER, ADAPTABLE TO CHANGE" in the same breath it looks a bit MADDENING. It's Punky Fresh! Is it for everyone... uhh No! If you work in one of those conformed, cookie cutter, corporate offices, your boss may be bit concerned and offer you a leave of absence, for "whatever" it is your going through. Blessed with a liberating lifestyle hey go for it!Isabel Marant Sneaker Wedge
"Check out King Bey's" Isabel Marant Sneaker Wedge. Custom for Beyonce by PMK NICE! These are a definitely on my radar for spring! GEEZ well maybe not these exact ones because I'm not Beyonce! However, made for style Goddesses at heart who just want to trade in her heels without sacrificing style. This look is summer 2012 but its still a green light for me spring 2013.

H&M 2013-2014 CRITIQUE -MEAN GIRL?
Why does fall /winter have to mean expel life to some Fashion designers.
The H&M 2013-2014 FALL collection was too drab, I tried, really, to find inspiration in the
line, but failed. I believe I saw three pieces with a spark of
character, everything else was out right plain, lacking creative appeal.
Am I being too harsh? Fall is a season of change. Colors change and
they are quite beautiful when transitioning at that time of year, and
this was a fall collection. Head of design at H&M, Ann-Sofie
Johansson really missed the ball on capturing my attention with this
line. Modern Drama was missing the DRAMA, where was it? I couldn't find
it? did you? I was disappointed, for lack of better terms the line was
old fashioned. First show in eight years? That means experience in
design, this line should have been as exciting as the hype!
H&M ONLINE
Finally, I hear Swedish brand H&M will launch there American e-commerce site in June 2013, unless something derails! Executives made this announcement after H&M's first runway show in Paris, showcasing 25 new looks down the salons of Rodin museum This was the Mega brand's first show in EIGHT YEARS. Must be a power trip having such a powerful brand that sells on its own.
